Modern Slavery Statement
Stockwell Movers Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Stockwell Movers in relation to the financial year ending 31 December and sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Stockwell Movers is committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly, and to respecting the human rights and dignity of all individuals affected by our activities.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Stockwell Movers maintains a strict zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, servitude and human trafficking. We will not knowingly conduct business with any organisation or individual involved in or associated with modern slavery practices. This commitment applies to our own operations, our employees, contractors, agency workers and every tier of our supply chain.
We expect everyone working with or for Stockwell Movers to uphold the highest standards of integrity and respect for human rights. Any breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter that may lead to termination of contracts, dismissal, or referral to relevant authorities as appropriate.
Our Operations and Supply Chains
Stockwell Movers provides relocation, packing, storage and logistics services. Our supply chains include transport providers, warehousing partners, packaging manufacturers, equipment suppliers and a range of professional and facility services. We recognise that certain areas of the logistics and warehousing sector, particularly where low-skilled or temporary labour is used, can be at higher risk of labour exploitation.
We are committed to identifying, assessing and mitigating modern slavery risks within these areas and to working collaboratively with suppliers to improve standards and transparency.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We require our key suppliers to operate in line with our values and to comply with all applicable labour, employment and human rights laws. When engaging new suppliers, we assess their ethical practices, including their own modern slavery policies, recruitment practices and working conditions.
Stockwell Movers undertakes periodic supplier audits and reviews, which may include site visits, requests for documentation, or structured questionnaires focusing on labour standards, use of recruitment agencies, wage and working hour records, and worker welfare. Where we identify concerns, we expect suppliers to implement corrective action plans within an agreed timeframe. Failure to address significant issues may result in suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Training and Awareness
We provide relevant training and guidance to management and staff involved in procurement, supplier management and operational supervision to help them recognise indicators of modern slavery and to understand our reporting channels and escalation procedures. We aim to ensure that employees in higher risk areas are particularly aware of the signs of exploitation and the steps they must take if concerns arise.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Stockwell Movers encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any suspicions or evidence of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chains. Concerns may be raised through internal management channels or via our whistleblowing procedure, which allows issues to be reported confidentially and without fear of retaliation.
All reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly and sensitively. Where appropriate, we will cooperate with law enforcement and relevant authorities to support any necessary action and to protect affected individuals.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility that requires continuous improvement. Stockwell Movers is committed to strengthening our due diligence processes, refining our supplier assessments and enhancing training and awareness across the organisation.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by senior management to assess progress, incorporate lessons learned and respond to changes in legislation, guidance and best practice. Updated versions of this statement will reflect any material changes to our approach or risk profile.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Stockwell Movers, who are responsible for ensuring its implementation and effectiveness throughout our operations and supply chains.
